The expander roll, also known as Spreader Roll, Bowed Roll, Curve Bar Expander, Banana Roll, Camber Roll, or Wrinkle Removing Roll, is designed to eliminate wrinkles in various industrial applications. Most expander rolls are driven by web tension without requiring additional power.

The key difference between a standard straight roller and an expander roller lies in the axis curvature. The arc-shaped axis creates tension across the material width, preventing wrinkles during processing. As material contacts the curved roller surface, edges move outward, creating uniform tension perpendicular to the roller surface.
